The U.K. Government says:
'Playing sport helps to keep people healthy and is good for communities. Playing sport at school or in a local club is also the first step to competition at the highest level, which helps improve our reputation as a sporting nation, and contributes to economic growth.'
In 2017-2018 Lawrence View Primary and Nursery School receives £8,700 of "Primary PE and Sport Premium Funding" which is spent in the following ways:
-Employment of Coaching specialist for PE in Years 1-6
-Employment of coaching specialist for after school clubs
-Funding support for engagement in competitions including transport.
-Subsidy for engagement of pupils in outdoor and adventurous activities
Broader provision of PE & sporting activities, fun & quality coaching, promotion of health, well-being & participation.
Positive uptake, with children continuing with sports i.e badminton, dance etc.
School involved in more competitive events.
Increase in involvement with girls and competitive sports
