Thank you for your continued support and positive feedback this week. We really appreciate this during such an unprecedented and busy time. By following government advice we are all doing our bit to fight this virus.

As many of you are aware school is now closed until further notice and only children of critical workers or key workers who do not have alternative childcare arrangements are able to attend by prior arrangement. Should you believe you come into this category please contact the school office for further advice. Please only use this service if you have no other safe option. A separate email has been sent to all families involved.

Home learning.

Each teacher has sent a pack of activities home with the children. Any child who is not in school has had a pack produced which will be available for collection outside the school office from 10am to 1pm on Monday 23rd March.

Your children will be able to contact their teachers regarding their work at anytime during school hours. Please be patient with them as responding individually can take some time. In turn the teachers will be setting work to be completed, this will start from Tuesday and will be via our many interactive web programmes e.g. my maths, dojo or the school website (class page). Some teachers have also sent home a suggested timetable for the day. Little and often should keep our children’s learning going. There is nothing better than reading a good book.

General ideas and suggestions of activities will be posted on the school website on the Fighting the virus page.

Please pace yourselves and allow time for children to relax, have fun and exercise.

At present all teachers are able to provide this distance learning and we will update you should there by any changes in our situation.

Free school meals.

Many of you have heard in the press that all children in receipt of a free school meal will be provided for. For the first week 23.3.20- 28.3.20 we will be making sandwich lunches for every child not in school in receipt of a free school meal. We will be delivering these to your homes during the morning session. At present we are informed that the government will provide vouchers for all eligible families from the 30.3.20.

We are planning to keep in touch as much as possible over the coming weeks, please send us your photos and updates which we will enjoy seeing and possible share in our weekly newsletter. There will always be someone in school if you need us.

We are hoping that we will all be back in school fit and healthy soon, in the meantime we would wish everyone well.

Kind regards

Emma McGrenaghan
