Enrichment

“The best education does not happen at a desk, but rather engaged in everyday living, hands-on exploration and active relationships with life.” Vince Gowmon

At Lawrence View Primary and Nursery School, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Our Enrichment Curriculum is designed to provide every child with a rich variety of memorable experiences that broaden horizons, raise aspirations and develop the knowledge, skills and character needed to thrive in modern Britain.

Enrichment is not an optional extra; it is an entitlement for every pupil. Carefully planned from Nursery through to Year 6, our enrichment offer complements and enhances our academic curriculum, providing meaningful opportunities for children to apply their learning in real-life contexts whilst developing confidence, resilience, leadership and independence.

Guided by our vision to Learn, Grow and Achieve and our values of Respect, Curiosity, Aspiration, Resilience and Kindness, we ensure that every child benefits from a wealth of cultural, creative, sporting, environmental and community experiences throughout their time at Lawrence View.

Broadening Horizons

Our enrichment programme includes educational visits, residential experiences, sporting competitions, performances, workshops, STEM activities, environmental projects and community partnerships. These carefully planned experiences help children make connections between their learning and the wider world whilst building cultural capital and aspirations for the future.

Character and Personal Development

Enrichment plays a vital role in developing the whole child. Through leadership opportunities, social action projects, outdoor learning and collaborative experiences, children learn to persevere, take responsibility, work with others and contribute positively to their community. These experiences help pupils develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.

The Lawrence View Promise

We want every child to leave Lawrence View having been inspired, challenged and supported to discover their talents and interests. Through our enrichment curriculum, pupils develop the knowledge, experiences and character that prepare them not only for the next stage of education, but also for a happy, successful and fulfilling life.

At Lawrence View, we are committed to ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to explore the wider world, create lifelong memories and truly Learn, Grow and Achieve.
