Picture book, mirrors and windows.

We use the concept of “mirrors and windows” to support pupils in developing a strong sense of identity alongside an understanding of the wider world. “Mirrors” ensure that children see themselves, their backgrounds and their experiences positively reflected in what they learn, helping to build confidence and a sense of belonging. “Windows” provide opportunities to explore different cultures, perspectives and ways of life, broadening pupils’ awareness and understanding. Together, this approach encourages respect, empathy and inclusion, ensuring all pupils feel valued while developing into thoughtful, informed members of society.
