​​​​​At Lawrence View, we want our children to enjoy Maths and to become curious Mathematicians who, throughout their learning journey, develop fluency skills, their ability to reason and express themselves using precise mathematical vocabulary and to be increasingly confident in solving problems using a range of explicitly taught heuristics.

It is our intention that Maths teaching and learning provides children with the opportunity to become number fluent and increase their problem-solving and reasoning ability. This is achieved through quality first teaching, children experiencing learning in a variety of ways, using different resources and approaches including concrete, pictorial and abstract methods. The Maths curriculum is mapped out by the small steps in the White Rose Hub scheme of work.
