Our Knowledge Mats are designed to help parents and carers support learning at home. They provide an overview of some of the key knowledge, vocabulary and concepts that children will be learning throughout each topic and subject area.

The Knowledge Mats available on our website offer a snapshot of our curriculum and highlight important learning that pupils will encounter during the year. They can be used to support discussions at home, reinforce new vocabulary and help children revisit and remember key learning.

As our curriculum is broad and ambitious, the Knowledge Mats published here do not represent every aspect of the knowledge taught in school. Instead, they provide a useful guide to some of the most important content that underpins learning within each topic.
