Reading
In Year 4, children have a reading book and reading diary that they need to bring to school daily. Their book bands are based upon assessments that are updated regularly. To support your child's development, we ask children to read at home at least three times a week. We find that little and often is usually most effective. It is also good if you get a chance to share a book with them that is beyond their reading ability to help build a wide range of vocabulary. We have a story at the end of every day and as part of our English curriculum.
